The V festival stated in 1996, - “V” stands for Virgin, because it is sponsored by Virgin group. The concert takes place at two locations, Chelmsford and Staffordshire, the festival is on the 18th and 19th of August.

There are three main stages at the festival, the V stage, the channel 4 stage and the JJB Puma stage.
The main acts which appeared on these stages include, on Saturday 18th the Killers and Kasabian, as well as the Kooks and Damien Rice, while Sunday the 19th August hosted Foo Fighters and Snow Patrol not to mention Basement Jaxx and Primal Scream.

There were also a number of other excellent performances in store for all the visitors from a number of excellent bands.

There is also a V festival in America which will host the Police as well as The Smashing Pumpkins and the Beastie Boys and many more. The festival will also be taking place in Canada and Australia this summer!
