Keane are described as being an English Piano rock band which were established in East Sussex in 1995. The band is made up of three members, Tim Rice-Oxley, Tom Chaplin and Richard Hughes.
Although the band have been around since 1995 it was not until 2004 when the band began to enjoy the huge success it has today. With the release of their Hopes And Fears album every song was loved by fans, and it was the year in which BBC's annual Sound of Music poll was named most likely to succeed in the coming year.
The album was released just one day before the beginning of their world tour and went straight to number one in UK charts and went on to become the second biggest selling album of the year.
Under the Iron Sea was released in April 2005 which saw four singles being released from this album.
A third album is rumoured to be in production but nothing has been confirmed by the band yet!
The band has experienced various personal trouble and problems within the group but have managed to stay together and plan a number of excellent gigs within the UK in the coming year.
